Student Paper Competition

學生論文競賽

To cultivate students' independent thinking and problem-solving ability in ergonomics research, improve the quality of academic paper writing skills, and strengthen oral expression training in English, the student competition is specially formulated.

為培養學生從事人因工程研究之獨立思考態度與解決問題能力、提升論文寫作品質並加強英文口語表達訓練，特訂定本競賽辦法。

Outstanding Paper Awards

​最佳論文獎

All participating students will receive a certificate of attendance at the conference as an incentive. The competition will be divided into college students and graduate students to compete separately. Based on the number of applicants and the quality of participating papers, rewards will be awarded in the final student competition of each group. The award of first place will be NTD$5,000, the second place will be awarded NTD$4,000, and the third place will be awarded NTD$3,000. Several Honorable Mention Award will be selected. Meanwhile, in order to reward the efforts and intentions of participating students, the top 3 winning articles in the competition will be included in the Journal of Ergonomic Study- 2024 Ergonomics Symposium Special Issue. 2 of Honorable Mention Awards winning articles of the competition will be selected by the Journal editorial committee to be included as well.

本次大會皆頒發參賽證明予所有參賽入圍學生以茲鼓勵，將分為大學生組及研究生組各別競賽，並視報名人數與參賽論文品質，由各組所有決賽論文中選出第一名頒發獎金新台幣5,000元，第二名頒發獎金新台幣4,000元，第三名頒發獎金新台幣3,000元，和佳作數名。同時為獎勵參賽同學的努力以及用心，前三名之競賽得獎文章，將收入於人因工程學刊－2024人因研討會特刊，競賽佳作得獎文章，將由人因學刊編輯委員會擇優挑選兩篇進行收錄。

Qualification of Participation

  1. Domestic and international students shall register in universities and maintain their effective status of being students, or has graduated for less than one year. Foreign students must provide a valid proof for the status of being students or a diploma to prove the graduation date (must be within one year).

  2. The maximum number of people in each team is up to 5 people, and each team must have one advisor with its recommendation letter. There is no limitation to advisor instructing only one teams, but each student can only sign up for one team at most. At least one student in the team must be a valid student membership of Ergonomics Society of Taiwan.

  3. The paper must be completed during the participant’s study as a student and must be written by the participant in person.

  4. The participant must be the first author of the paper, the advisor can be listed in authorship for his/her intelligent contribution.

  5. The full paper can be written in either Chinese or English, but the oral presentation must be made in English on the date of student paper competition.

參賽資格

  1. 全國大專院校學生及研究生均可組隊參加，本國籍參賽學生與於國內大專院校就讀之外籍學生須目前在國內大專院校註冊並有學籍，或畢業未滿一年；外國籍參賽學生須於報名時提供有效學生身分證明文件或畢業證書（需畢業未滿一年）。

  2. 每隊人數以5人以內為限，每團隊須有指導老師1人，指導教授不限指導一組團隊，但每位學生最多僅能報名參加一團隊。團隊中至少一位學生須為中華民國人因工程學會有效之學生會員。

  3. 參賽論文內容必須於參賽學生就學期間內完成，並由參賽學生親自撰寫。

  4. 參賽論文的第一作者需為參賽學生（指導老師可同時列名）。

  5. 參賽論文可選擇以中、英文撰寫，學生專題論文口試競賽當天，需以英語進行口頭報告。

Submission & Registration

Participants in student competition must register through EST2024 online registration system and pay the participation fee to enroll. The full paper must be submitted with other required documents through the online system in PDF format before the designated date. A full package of documents includes the followings in order:

 

  1. recommendation letter from advisor

  2. Full paper

  3. Proof of student status/copy of diploma

  4. Proof of EST membership (e.g. certificate or payment receipt of membership fee)

報名與投稿方式

參賽學生必須透過第三十一屆中華民國人因工程學會年會暨國際學術研討會（以下簡稱本次大會）線上註冊系統報名，並於註冊時註明「參加學生論文競賽」及繳交註冊費後始完成報名。

參賽論文需經由本次大會投稿系統上傳PDF電子檔，其格式與頁數均依照本次大會論文全文要求，並於上傳時將以下文件依序合併為一個PDF檔案後上傳，始完成投稿程序。

  3. 有效學生身分證明文件

  4. 學會會員資格證明（證書或繳費收據）

完成報名與投稿程序之論文經初審完畢後，將於本次大會網站公告入圍名單與口試競賽時程，並依據報名資料以電子郵件方式分別通知參賽學生。

Grading

The grading of student paper competition will be evaluated based on both the quality of the paper and the performance of oral presentation. Experts in Ergonomics will be invited to compose the review committee.The committee will review the paper works and make a decision of the finalists, and evaluate the final oral presentation to award winners of student paper competition.

  • Paper Review
  1. Problem statement (clear background and motivation, importance of problem)
  2. Literature review (both depth and breadth of knowledge and mastering the key points)
  3. Method description (clear logic, appropriate method and reasons)
  4. Results presentation (information is correct and detailed)
  5. Contribution (academic/ practical value with properly analyzes the scope and limitations of application, and compares with literature results)​
  • Oral Presentation
  1. Organizational structure (complete structure and appropriate time control)​​
  2. Information delivery (clearly grasp the key points)
  3. English fluency (fluent and confident)
  4. Slides layout (neat and beautiful layout with appropriate use of special effects)
  5. Q&A (answer accurately and respond quickly)

​評分標準

  1. 本學會將邀請人因工程領域專家學者組成評審小組進行評選。

  2. 學生論文競賽評分分為「書面論文」與「口頭發表」兩個部份，評分要點如下：

  • 書面論文

  1. 問題陳述（背景與動機清楚、問題重要）

  2. 文獻探討（兼具深度與廣度，並且掌握重點）

  3. 方法描述（邏輯清晰，採用方法適當並說明理由）

  4. 結果呈現（資訊正確詳盡）

  • 貢獻討論（具有學術或實務價值，妥善分析適用範圍與限制，並與文獻結果比較）

  • ​口頭發表

  1. 組織架構（結構平衡完整，時間控制得宜）

  2. 資訊傳遞（清楚掌握重點）

  3. 英文口語（通順流暢並有自信）

  4. 簡報製作（版面整齊美觀，特效運用適當）

  5. 問題回答（回答確實，反應敏捷）
